EIOPA European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority

Developing a communications strategy to help EIOPA look forward to the next 10 years

The challenge

EIOPA celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2021. This milestone coincided with a change of chair at the top of the agency.

Working with Restless Communications, were asked to develop, and bring to life, a design-led comms strategy which marked both of these events, to be launched at their showpiece annual conference.

Our work had to reflect EIOPA’s significant achievements to date and look forward too. And talk to a broader audience than usual.

The result

Part of our work developing brand strategy and positioning was to modernise and refresh the EIOPA logo.

We also developed a detailed style guide so the agency could create their own suite of on-brand products for years to come.

We also helped EIOPA to produce several assets including
A timeline of EIOPA’s key activity to date
A 28-page book to highlight EIOPA’s successes and aspirations
A three-minute film, which we then edited the film into a series of ten short social media clips.

These assets were designed to tell the complex story of a decade of pension and insurance regulation as simply and clearly as possible.

EIOPA needed clear communications which could be easily understood by the European citizens benefiting from it.

We worked on the 10th anniversary book and film from conception; through stakeholder interviews, copywriting and design; to completion and delivery.

Videos

We produced a 2min plus 'timeline' video animation, telling the story of the first 10 years of EIOPA. Used specifically at a conference event, this film was designed to be cutdown into year specific shorter films of r social media use.
